Hi Everyone,

I currently have 3 systems on AMD Socket A platform:-
Abit NF7-S V1 with 2000XP
Abit KR7-133 with 1800XP
Asrock K7VT4 with Duron 1600
Asrock with Duron 1400

After installing some sticks 1gb ddr 2700, Asrock K7VT4 is no longer posting. The KR7 is dodgy anyway so I have two systems that need replacing.

They all have adequate ddr1 ram, agp gfx cards, and ide hdds. as they are mainly being used for web browsing, word, and older games.

I am intending to get some budget AM2 and AM2 processors to replace the above with total budget not exceeding £100 per system.

Please could you suggest some mobo and cpu combinations within this budget?
Also will the Enermax PSU's (350-450W) of Socket A generation work with AM2s,PCI-E, S-ATA?

The PSUs will probably be OK in terms of wattage. You need to check the current capacity of the 12 V rail. If it's not at least 20 A you should probably get new PSUs.

What exactly do you need in each rig? AM2 proc, AM2 mobo, but what else?

I don't think I need much else as I already have dvd-rw's, ram, gfx, hdds.

Are the low end AM2 CPU's worth upgrading from my current ones, XP2000, XP1800, Durons 1600/1400?
