So if have a problem where I can't get passed the motherboard screen on my new build to get things sorted took the pc to a local tech he said it was the gfx card so I done a RMA on the card got a new one same problem.

Now I think i need to update the bios for it to work s I ordered a cheap gfx card so I can do that but I was wondering how I actually update the bios never done it before.

Gtx Titan
Gigabyte x79-up4
16gb Kingston ram
128gb ssd
I7 3820 cpu

Can you actually access the BIOS?

All you need to do is put the BIOS files onto a Usb memory stick and press end at splash screen to update through qflash

Also if I did manage to get a USB how big will it need to be storage wise

Tiny...

My Bios updates for my asrock board are less than 3MB.

So barely any storage is needed. Though it will need to be formatted to FAT32.

With my motherboard, I can update it through windows (Different download than flash) but i prefer to flash it from the bios. I Just feel that windows will get in the way.

Have you installed windows? and is the hard drive selected which contains the install?
