updating parallels problem

hi, just been prompted to install new parallels build on osx which i did. Then I boot up windows and am told to install update to the windows end. The minute I hit install I get a BSOD and then everything restarts. Anyone else experience this? I hate windows with a passion.

Versions? (Parallels and Windows!)

I've had occasional issues in the past, usually solved by de-installing the existing parallels tools, rebooting Windows XP then installing as if clean.

version 3188 in mac, 3038 (i think) in windows. Really really strange problem. Will probably just remove all installations and start again. It shouldn't be too much hassle as long as my bootcamp installation doesn't get screwed up.

edit: just did a reboot and windows wont load now - the usual rubbish about running the repair recovery console. I think il just delete windows and go with osx all the time. I am really loosing any patience i had when using windows!
