Updating recommendations!

Hi all,

Its that time again to update. I have decided to update the motherboard, memory, processor and video card.

I have more or less settled on the following:

Processor: Intel core 2 duo extreme x6800 socket 775 - 2.93Ghz

Mobo: Asus P5W DH Deluxe socket 775 PCI-Express

Memory: Corsair 2Gb ddr2 xms2 - 6400C4

I think all the above should work together. Its the video card i am not sure of.
Would it be better to go for the Nvidia 7900 gtx or the 7950 series?

Grateful if you could advise as its i hope money well spent.

try using that.

I believe 2x GTX is the best Nvidia SLI config atm. But on their own a 7950 would be better.

Is the vastly greater price of the x6800 really worth it over the 6700 ?
I think the 7900GTX would be superior & comes with a much better cooler. But the 7900GTO gets 95% of the way there for a fair bit less.
