im sure i have seen/heard of web forms which change the text on the page once submitted... i can’t find anything on it...

any1 help?

You're looking for a CMS (Content management system). There are loads of them, the question is how simple do you want it?

Wordpress is simple and easy to use, as well as having a good support community.

very simple. they just want to say something like "today we are closed"
maybe with a link..

all i want is to make sure its formatted correctly... right font etc..

cutenews seems to do it, but have lots of stuff which isnt needed... i.e comments and stuff. however im taking that out of the templates

http://www.cushycms.com is very good, works really well, apart from a) its another site away from their own... b) the formatting it gives the user allows them to mess up the css font atributes (size, colour etc) but i cant give them plantext edit because they want to enter links... so its very close but i dont think its going to work for me..
