Hi all,

I am looking at spending up to £1000 for a good 4k build, I have a SSD NXZT Phanton 410 case and a sapphire r290 vapor x.

I intend to get a kaby lake setup with MB Memory and CPU, the two things I worry about and did not think about was my GPU might not be up to the job and my corsair 100 cooler.

What do people think would be a top build, I was hoping top get

Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz (Kaby Lake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - Retail

Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero Intel Z270 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard

Team Group Night Hawk RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit - RGB Black (TF1D4

if your going to get intel- bite the bullet and get coffee-lake i7 with 6 core-8 threads, i5 8600k 6 core only can match the i7 in terms of FPS when gaming if you want to keep costs down.
if you really want kaby, wait a little for discount bundles to come out.

you mention 4k, do you already have a 4k monitor? is it G-sync/Freesync?

I have a 4K monitor I don't think its free/g sync but it does support 4K

you'd be looking at a Ti to do 4K Gaming

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,112.06
(includes shipping: £11.10)

could get away with Ryzen 1400 since 4k puts the stress on GPU and shouldnt cause CPU bottleneck unlike 1080p and maybe 1440p with that cpu.
but you can see pushes your budget - not counting PSU
might be able to get away with GTX 1080 and seems Vega 64 or 56 flashed with 64 bios does fair nicely at 4k compared to 1080p and solidly at 1440p
