Upgrade 1080ti or buy another and SLi

I would advise against SLi.

You'll need a decent power supply and all the cables to run 2 1080ti's.

The software and support just isn't there for SLi, some games will be faster, many the same, some don't like SLi and will be worse.

I ran a pair of 6950's for a good few years, and whilst I don't regret it as such, I'd never dual GPU again and would advise people against it.

SLi is a bad option. Definitely go with the upgrade option.

Also, I don't have VR but I was under the impression that a 1080ti would be ample for this? Are you sure this stuttering issue isn't something else?

title really.. Having some stuttering issues VR in ED and DCS. Wondering if an upgrade or buying another 1080 Ti
Sli does not work in VR. From DCS point of view as long as you have got a decent clocked cpu going to a higher gpu won't give much benefit as it's just not optimised well.

I'm getting part screen blackouts and major stuttering in DCS.

Ryzen 7 1700x 32gb ram

I am running 3 other screens at the same time though
3840x2160
1920x1080
1920x1080

Although I tried with those turned off and no difference in game

Sounds like driver issues to me - I was getting some black flashing in VR the other day but seemed to be cured by latest NV drivers using DDU.
Could also be process priority and power management - worth using something like process lasso to prioritise DCS. If you google it there are a few guides out there its quite easy
Also have you cleared out the metashaders and fxo folders? They are under C:/users/"yourPCname/Saved Games/DCS

If you go in an delete all the content under fxo and metashaders2 folder. When you restart a level it will take a while to reload them all but if you have done several DCS updates and not cleared them out it can affect performance.

I'd wait for new cards then decide. I love my 1080to SLI but I've had it 3 years, great performance in the games that support it and much quicker than 2080ti. I'd wait until new cards drop and prices settle
although it would depend on how much I could pick up another 1080ti for.

I had a little play around last night. Opened up GPU tweak and then the OC kicked in. And with a few tweaks on the visuals its much better but still not quite there. I'll look at the above recomendations and see
