Am I correct in thinking hyperthreading is better for VR?

I have a 2500k at the moment and on a budget after breaking the bank for the HTC Vive!

My motherboard doesn't overclock H61, so thinking of upgrading my board and getting a 2700k and overclocking, will match with a 1080 as well.

Your thoughts?

I can't afford DDR4 upgrade :(
