hi, just about to rebuild loop full upgrade dual loop 2x gtx 980, currently running 4930k rampage iv black edition, i use pc for 90% gaming is there any point in me upgrading cpu or motherboard ? or stick with what i have.
thanks

dont class 980s as side grade as i brought the swift and would be no real advantage keeping them, and money is not an issue.
probably better off sticking with set up then .

840 EVO is TLC NAND.

850 Pro is MLC 3D NAND.

850 Pro is a much better drive, and certainly the one I'd prefer of the two.

sounds good to go with 850 pro and a fresh install at least i get rid of junk programmes etc accumulated 1 512 for op/steam 3 x256 movies/music etc goodbye to hdd.

A fresh install is the way to go just installed Win 8.1 onto my Sam 830 OS+Apps and games on my 840 the 850 was not out at the time l bought mine.

I found Win 8.1 a lot better all round than Win 7 very quick to install and easy to use.

I did away with my mechanical HDD and l use a WD 1TB Elements Portable Hard Drive USB:3/2 for back up its very fast as well.

ive got a 1tb external samsung plu/play which i shift important stuff to now and again they are fast and not bigger than a mobile phone, 1 of my best buys.

If you have a decent clocking 4930k, upgrading to haswell E may actually be a downgrade in gaming terms if you end up with a poor clocking CPU. Unless you need 16 threads for specific applications, in which case x99 and a 5960x are a no-brainer.
