Hello all,

Not so long ago I’ve started a topic on this website about a new system I wanted to buy.
Due personal reasons I took my uptil now to save the money for it.

So I will inform u bit:

Money: £ 975,- / € 1100,-
The Use: 80% Gaming and 20% video/image editing
Games/Programs: Counterstrike, TF2, GTA IV, Photoshop CS3, Sony Vegas, Frontpage 2003

The rig will be used for the above applications and games. I will also take it to LAN’s.
Also it has to be quiet, cool, compact.

Things I already have for my system:
  • Lite ON DVD Rewriter
  • Coolermaster M700 Power Supply
  • 2 x Scythe S-Flex Fans 1600RPM

Things I need now:
  • Processor + Cooler (for heavy tasking like above)
  • Motherboard (has to be a good OC-er)
  • Graphics Card (for resolutions max. 1650x1080)
  • Memory (at least 6GB because of the tasking)
  • Case (if possible no mesh cause of the dust, not too expensive)
  • Harddisks ( 1 Boot disk and maybe 2 Data disks)



My configuration so far:

i7 920 D0
Asus Rampage II Gene
OCZ Platinum XTC 1600MHZ CL7
ATI HD5870?
Antec P180 Mini
Harddisk not sure...

The F1's are nothing compared to F3's. Samsung really have pulled one out of the bag, plus its faster than a caviar black. If they're the games that you're playing, you could get away with a 5770 (you could always crossfire later because its same price as a 5850but more powerful)
How about this RAM instead?
