Upgrade advice £100-150

Still not clued up about the latest graphics cards so looking for a little advice.

Going to be mooching over to a pc shop later on today and looking for a new gfx to replace my 2600xt so i can play crysis properly!

I was thinking maybe the HIS 3870 XT 512mb would be a good choice but i'm not sure.

Anyone else like to make a suggestion?

/edti might get a 4600 cpu too, havent decided yet.

What res you playing at?

Probably the GT for bang for the buck but the GTX (better for reolutions of 1680x1050 and above) is still a darn good card for a great price.

I'd go with the GT listed above. That would leave you with some cash to get a replecement CPU too.

either of the two cards mentioned will work well... though they both are likely to be bottlenecked by your CPU...

So an 8800 GT + 4600 x2 cpu would be a good upgrade we think?

Incidently, will my ThermalTake TR2 470w be good enough? I'm not overclocking.

I dont think a 4600+ will be much faster than what you have now.
if you have £150 max this is what id go for,

Get a 8800 GT and maybe a S1 cooler + 120mm fan if you want to overclock it.

CPU wise your only option is to keep current or upgrade to Intel C2D, which would mean CPU + mobo + ram...

Well i went ahead and got a 5200+ x2 1mb cache and picked up an xpert vision 8800GT.

Crysis looks pimp now
