Hi guys. just re joined the site, as I used to be on here years ago. Since then I have have fallen behind in current technology.

I want to upgrade my current pc. things I have that I will keep, are 4850 graphics card, Intel Ssd, and two hdd.

so then I have been looking at processors etc.
I was thinking an i5 3570k processor but looking at the performance charts the AMD fx 8150 seems to be a similar spec to lower i7, but at an i3 price.
can they be that good? or is it Intel all the way?

motherboards, I have no idea what the different motherboards offer.

case, I quite fancy a cooler master case.

over to you guys.

thanks Steve. looking at the cpu forum they seem to avoid the fx chip, so this will be an Intel build.

probably i5 3570 k , so what mobo, memory, case and psu?

Can't go wrong with a Corsair PSU, Gigabyte z77 UD3H mobo, Samsung Green 8gb memory kit. Don't know much about Cooler Master cases,it tends to be Antec/Fractal/Corsair on here. Wish I knew how to port, shopping cart on an iPad :(. Like Steve said go with the i5, AMD aren't even worth considering at the minute for a gaming rig

Thanks stinger, Although I will need to add heatsink & Fan onto this.

All i seem to do on here lately is help people build in the Z9. Great case for the money, lots of kit to like for the price. A modular PSU would help if im honest
