First post and I'm already asking for help :D I used to be an avid OCer but have not followed recent hardware trends at all. I am reading many threads but would appreciate a little help.

At present I have a Dell Dimension 5000 (BTX)
Intel 3.0 Prescot 530
Dell Mobo PCIe
160GB HD sata
2x256 DDR2 3200 infineon
2x256 DDR2 4300 micron
Gecube X800GT PCIe
EMU 0404 soundcard
Dell case and Dell PSU

I would like to upgrade but re-use the the gfx, soundcard, HD and memory if possible

AMD would be my route of choice

What would give me the best performance to cost (OCing) within say a £500 budget

PS. It must be as quiet as possible due to location.

the memory will be unusable as its ddr2 , so try geil value kit, 2gb would also be useful, a 3700 + Chip would be good value for money and recent steppings overclock well , also go for a motherboard like a DFI as they oc well
