Hi guys.

My current PC basics are:

AMD 64 3500+ (939)
1gb DDR (2x 512mb, unmatched, budget RAM)
Nvid 6600 PCI-e

Q1) I'm short on cash but wondering what to upgrade for around £120? This is for games and I want something to give me a little more time before I get a whole new system in the summer.

I was thinking a "Connect3d ATi 1950XT 256mb" would be a good upgrade?

Q2) On top of that, I'm thinking of overclocking the CPU I have now, it runs warm at the moment on a stock fan, 65C load and would like to push it to 2.5ghz (300mhz OC), do you think it's worth paying £15 for a fan to do this, any reccomendations?

Many thanks in advance. :)

Welcome to the forums, if you can get an X1950XT for £120 then go for it, failing that an X1950pro is a decent substitute and fits into the price range.

If you are going to try overclocking then I'd suggest an Arctic Freezer 64, it is within the budget and cools well. :)

2x3800+ + 7600GT IMO.

Edit - Scrap that idea. If you're getting a PC later in the year, grab an 1950PRO and it'll be fine to use in the new machine too.
