Evening,

My girlfriends machine needs some updating as its lagging behind, whats going to give me the best performance boost for the money. I'm torn between a new GPU or some more RAM.

GTS250 1GB, 2GB Corsair XMS2 PC2-6400, [email protected]

Obviously im not looking to turn this into a major gaming rig, just want to be able to play the latest games (MW3 in particular) at medium-high settings.

Thanks for your input!

Extra RAM so its 4GB, what configuration is the RAM at the moment? i stick of 2Gb or 2 X 1GB?

What sort of budget are you thinking?

What PSU is in the PC at the moment?
What case is it?

In all honesty you probably need both upgrading to make the system complete. Upgrading one will just mean the other is the major bottleneck. Best bet is checking out classifieds/auction sites for 2GB DDR2 RAM and a GTX260/4850/4870/5770 for a nice boost in performance.

Hi, the current set up is 2x1GB so obviously i'd have to buy 2x2GB and sell off the other two sticks. The PSU is Thermaltake TR-2 500W and the budget has got to be as low as possible. So if i go for the RAM for the moment and then grab the gpu second?
