Hello

i wonder if you can help me. i think my PC at its current stage is as far as it will go with the exception of a new GPU. i mainly game and using a racing rig so want to get my hands on a VR to immerse my self even more. do i need to upgrade anything in your opinions to get a solid 1080p frame rate?

current spec

i7 4790k at 4.8ghz
32gb 2400mhz ram
powercolor r9 390

i cant really do much on the processor front without ditching the mobo cpu and ram, im maxed out on the ram for my mobo as well.

everything is running well at present on my 1080p monitor but i want to try and get the system better for VR.

1) am i ok as i am?

2) if i need a new GPU do i
i) add anotherr9 390 and cross fire (cheap option at £180)
ii) sell the r9 390 and add a 1080ti (mega expensive and probably out of my budget right now)

any help or advice is greatly appreciated

Seconded. Get a Nvidia, starting from a 1070 upwards, depending on budget. Do not crossfire, or SLI. Single card, the biggest you can afford.

Dunno about the new AMDs, they can be an option, but I VR fine on a GTX980ti (GTX1070 is slightly faster, and with some added VR trickery IIRC), so I go with what I know.
