Looking for some general advice really, my current setup is;

gtx480
i5 2500k at 3.8ghz.
8gb of corsair ram
850 watt ocz power supply.

Starting to notice the strain on my gpu with some of the modern games now. Loved the 480 though its really been a good card with no crashed, driver issues etc.

I'm not an nvidia fanboi having had numerous ati cards in the past however i'm currently looking at the two following cards.

or

I really have no idea which would be the better option. Does anyone have any suggestions? Currently gaming at 1080p will be looking at a 120hz monitor maybe around christmas time. Thanks in advance.

Both of those are great cards, but there is some great 670 and 7970 deals. Both camps have amazing deals.

No reason at all other then a friend I have has currently upgraded from a 7950 to a 770 and is really happy with the performance.

The 7970 and 770 are similar performing cards, with the deal on the 7970 though it's hard to say no.

Lightning all the way baby! Physx may be an added extra should you care about that? The witcher 3 has it and as the new consoles can do physx it may get used a touch more although I wouldnt bank on it!
