I intend to upgrade my CPU/Motherboard/RAM and need some advice.

I currently have the following which i primarily use for gaming;

i5 3570k @ 4.5ghz (will clock higher, just never felt the need)
Asus P8Z77-V LX
2x4GB @ 1600mhz
AMD R9 290 (ran at stock, although it will do 1200/1500 if required)

CPU and GPU are in a custom loop.

I have been waiting for Skylake, but i am rather underwhelmed if i'm honest.

There's a cracking deal on the 5820k and a gigabyte motherboard which i'm tempted by;

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-020-GI&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=2858

And as Skylake seems to be carrying a premium i'm not willing to pay i was looking at Devils canyon and have seen the i7 4790k for £230 (albeit not from OCUK) and would require a mid-ranged board to accompany it.

Ideally i need to be able to re-use my current water block (EK Supremecy) in the build i go with.

So my options are;

5820K path @ £394 (excluding RAM)

4790K path @ ~£330 (excluding RAM)

I will probably buy new RAM whichever build i go with (got to match the colour scheme, so i left that factor out)

What do you think is the best path to take and do you have any build suggestions? And if you think Skylake is a better option feel free to throw that back in to the mix.
