Afternoon all. I'm looking at upgrading my PC and have a budget of £1100. I've recently purchased a GTX 960 so there is no need for a graphics card, and no real need for hard drives as I have 2 samsung SSDs and a 1TB drive - though saying that I would like one of the new samsung m2 SSD in this build.

From looking on overclockers, I was thinking of something like this;

- Intel i7-5820K 3.30GHz (Haswell-E) Socket LGA2011-V3 Processor
- Gigabyte X99-Gaming 5P Intel X99 (Socket 2011) DDR4 EATX Motherboard
- Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit
- Samsung 950 Pro 256GB M.2 PCI-e 3.0 x 4 NVMe Solid State Drive
- Corsair RM Series RM850X '80+ Gold' 850W Modular Power Supply
- Corsair Hydro H60 V2 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

At this point its about ideas! Thanks all!

What are the main uses for this system? And what is your current system spec?

Current spec is i5-2500k, MSI Z68A-GD55 board and 16gb of 1866 hyperX. I do a fair bit of gaming, but also render videos so would like a lot of cpu grunt - this is why I went with that i7 (I've read that there isn't too much difference between the 5th and 6th gens?!?)

Thanks

How much of rendering do you do 1 video 20 minutes each or what? Did you overclock your cpu yet?

Only 5-10 min videos, nothing spectacular atm due to university commitments but in the summer I want to do a lot more. Yes I briefly overclocked my CPU using the MSI overclocking function (3.30 to 3.60)
