upgrade , advice please sons 21st

Looking to surprise my son for his 21st in a few months
looked at two rigs below basically the same apart from graphics card .
He mainly does gaming such as dayz , blacklight retribution , cod and battlefield.
I have also found he has been wanting a new 24 or 27 monitor with about £ 250 to spend of his own money !!!!! . which gave me idea of new rig for him .

Any views on rigs and ideas for a monitor to go with these type rigs much appreciated from a not so clued up dad .

Those are similar systems really neither is better than the other.

Could probably save a few pounds by going with 8GB RAM instead as it's more than enough for gaming purposes.
 
you could design a build you self then get OCUK to build it (costs £60 i think), just nee dot post it in Customer service forum link when you have decided. It could be cheaper either by a lot or marginally; just depends on what you want to get your son. Also look into getting a 144hz screen, they are better for gaming.
