My power supply has today died, so while I have the opportunity I'm looking at upgrading my whole system except the case. Could anyone suggest a high-end system for graphics and video intense work (under £1000 if possible). I have bought a Corsair 600GS this afternoon as my original plan was simply to replace the PSU, so I'm not sure if this would be suitable in the new rig!? I can send it back if not.

I'm not up to speed on hard drives, but I see hybrid drives are now available. Would it be worth getting one of these or an SSD to run the OS?

OS is not required as I already have Win 7 Ultimate 64.

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm just looking to get all the components to fit my current case, Antec P182.

I presume single gfx would be ok, I don't plan on using it for gaming. Current card is 6600GTX but it's been giving me problems for a while so would rather something new. If needed, I'm happy to get a better power supply.

Thanks for your help.

Thank for the suggestions.

stulid, regarding the board, would it be worth paying more for something like the Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-GEN3? Looking at the feature set I can't see what I would be able to take advantage of from paying more, but I don't know.

The memory you suggested is dual channel. Would I see any benefit from going with quad channel. Something like the G.Skill RipJawsZ 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit?

As for the GFX, I notice that card only has a mini-HDMI port. I'd prefer a standard HDMI simply so I don't need an adapter. Is there anything comparable to that card with standard HDMI?

Everything else seems good to me. I'm just a little worried about the power supply I've bought (Corsair CMPSU-600GUK Gaming Series GS600). Will it be good enough for this setup?

Thanks again
