upgrade advice please.

Hi Everyone

My First time here hello and thanks in advance.

i was looking for a little advice with upgrading my PC here are the specs below. i was thinking motherboard, power unit but not sure to what???? i do not have a massive budget around £150.

AMD Bulldozer FX 6100 3.3Ghz Six Core Processor / CPU
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti
Seagate 1TB 2.5 inch Laptop Solid State Hybrid Drive
16GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
MSI 760GM-P21-(FX) uATX Motherboard
ATX 500b 500 watt power supply

the case i have is not the biggest either on the webi=site it says

Motherboard Support ATX, mATX
Case Width (mm) 188
Case Height (mm) 447
Case Depth (mm) 468

I'm not doing anything hardcore with the PC some gaming (WOT) and movie/photo editing.

Can I ask if the 500b is an EVGA Psu and how long have you had it.

Something like this, depending on the make of your Psu. The cooler will allow you to OC your 6100 and get a little more out of it. If your Psu is a decent branded unit, then you could get a new case or a better mobo.

More heat and possible voiding your warranty

By using a decent aftermarket cooler this helps to reduce the heat. The heat is caused by using more voltage to obtain a stable OC, As you increase the clock speed, you need to increase the voltage. The trick is to find the minimum voltage for the increase in clock speed you want to obtain, whilst maintaining overall stability. There are plenty of guides about to help you OC or you can open a thread in the Overclocking forum, where you will get plenty of help and advice.
But OC'ing does not void your warranty. As long as you keep within the maximum voltage permitted, your Cpu will be fine.

I always had in my head over clocking is hard is only for the pros but I think I'll get the new hardware and then look into doing it.
