Upgrade Advice (to play BF3)

Hi guys, need advice on what to upgrade so I can play BF3.

I have an old 8800 GTX on GA-X38-DQ6 with 4gb ram

I wanted to know which GFX card I can upgrade to that would handle BF3. Nvidia recommends 560+, but what if I got a 570, would it be compatible with my mobo?
(don't need to play max settings)

I use two 30" Dell 3008's for work and one of them for play (2560x1600). So will need a GFX for regular graphic work.

Budget £200-300 for a new GFX - or advise.

thanks

I imagine the minimum recommended spec. is for 1920x1080.

2560x1600 is almost twice as many pixels to push out.

You're going to need something a lot more powerful.

I'm in a similar situation (with a smaller monitor).

I've heard that BF3 eat gfx RAM so I'm planning on a GTX570 2.5GB which fits in the top of your budget at £305.

Having said that I'm an unashamed nVidia fanboi, so there may be a lower cost ATI option that I've not even bothered to look at.

Something to be wary of though is whether your PSU can cope. Mine can't as it will deliver only 36A on the 12V, and the card requires 38A.

the minimum recommended is NOT for 1920x1080. I've got a 8800gt and i have to set it to 1024x768 with EVERYTHING low or off to get it above 30fps

I tried to launch BF3 BETA says Nvidia driver version is too low, NVIDIA site then tells me to upgrade to 560 or higher to play BF3...

I can play BF2 pretty nicely. I don't need to play at 2560x1600, but 1080 would be good.

I think the Mobo supports CrossFire not SLI?
