Hi all at present i have a MSIRTX 3080 suprim x with a 10900k on a z490 mboard and 32gb ddr4 3200 ram my monitor is a Dell S2721DGF a 27inch 1440p .
My question is this im toying with the idea of jumping to a 4k monitor. like the m28u or the Dell g3223q . ATM my prsent set up runs games at good fps but i know a 4k monitor would need more grunt . So should i wait for the 4000 series or buy the current higher gpus of the current generation as their prices are dropping. Ilook forward to your comments.

Current gen 'should' drop even more when the next gen are released, so either way it's wait for the GPU purchase, but I have seen 3090's selling for ~700 2nd hand.

For 4k monitor, I'd be looking at the 42 inch LG's. More expensive than those you been looking at but for another £300.....far superior experience - if you have the room. The 3080 does well at 4k with the 3090 only ~15% more performance. I'd upgrade monitor first and get a 4000 series as you'll see more performance uplift than a 3090. fps increase will be single to low double figures and you'll not really see/feel it with a 3090. Good luck
