I've just got my hands on a second-hand Asus A8N-SLI SE motherboard and a AMD 64 Opteron 146 Skt 939. I've already 1gb of OcZ memory which is compatible with the board. I'm looking to spend around £120 on a graphics card, less would be nice. Something that will be able to play the latest games and watch DVDs as well. My monitor is a Belinea 10/20/35 W.

TIA for any advice given.

I'd stretch for a x1950 Pro (there is a connect 3d one due in tomorrow which is £117, else £125), the alternative being a 7900 GS or 7600 GT - what resolution would you want to game at?

PCI-E Cards,

7600 GS (£69) , 7600 GT (£88) , 7900 GS (£108) , x1950 Pro (£125) , x1950 XT (£165) , 8800 GTS (£287) , 8800 GTX (£375) .

Thanks for that. At the moment the monitor is set at 1,680 x 1,050, so I just leave it at that. I had been looking at the x1950 pro but wasn't sure if it was ok with this board. BTW the PSU I have is a Tagan TG480-UO1

thanks

PS just read about the power connector in another thread.
