I just got an Asrock 4core dual vsta mobo with an E4300 because i didn't want to upgrade my old system all in one go.

whats left from old system still being used is the Tagan 480W, WD 300gb Sata Hard drive, DVD-RW and 1gb DDR400 and an ATi 9800 Pro.

Current setup is more than good enough for my general use, but obviously can't play games too good. no point OCing now because the GPU is just holding system back.

What is my next step and when should it be?

I was planninng on waiting for the Nvidia 8600's hoping they'd cost sub£150 and still be good enough. or at least they'd drive the price down of say the x1950Pro. but I just don't want to end up waiting too long.

Someones offering me a 512mb 7800GTX for 120. I was thinking of offering him £90. is that worth it? should I offer him less/more?

If you can push your budget up to around £200 then you could get an 8800GTS 320mb version but if not the 7800GTX is still a good card, I don't know about secondhand prices though, maybe have a look in Members Market if you have access? :)

The OP won't have access yet - I'd scount around for an x1950 Pro, there must be loads on the market now that the 8800 GTS 320MB is out. See if you can pick up one cheap.
