I'm thinking about doing the following upgrades in anticiaption of new PCgames.

Current system:

E6300 @ 2.3 with Zalman CNPS7700
GeIL 1GB PC6400
Gigabyte GA 965P DS3
BFG GeForce 7600 GT
Antec Performance TX640B
Samsung 940BF 19"

Upgrades:

Antec TruePower Trio 550W PSU £54.99
(£64.61) £54.99

BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail £164.99
(£193.86) £164.99

LG L226WTQ 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver £179.99
(£211.49) £179.99

Sub Total : £399.97

What about going for 2Gigs of RAM?

Overclocking CPU more?

New CPU?

I want to play Crysis/UT3/etc

id say that cpu will be fine unless you can afford quad. ive got mine happy at 3.15 under a acf7p so yours should do that no prob

deffo get another gig of ram geil is super cheap now

everything else looks fine

is this the best time to do it?

a lot of the developers dont have solid release dates for their games.

i remember getting a new laptop, with geoforce 2 go, in anticipation of that new duke nukem game! the laptop is long gone!

It depends how long your willing to wait, 2008 may see some very nice new developments.

If you are buying another gb of ram, sell your current sticks and get a 2gb kit. Much faster in Dual Channel rather than 4x512mb :)

nows as gooda time as any

you might want 4 gb ram and vista if you want to play the new dx 10 games although it looks like there all going to be playable in dx 9 anyway
