I have a A64 3500+, x1800XT and a gig of 3200 corsair xms.
Upgrade time I think?
1)What would you recommend as an upgrade, the absolute best BANG for BUCK. I was thinking just get an X2 dual core? will my mobo support it? I'm pretty sure its an Asus A8V, anyway to check in windows? as the board doesn't say?
2) The northbridge van on my Asus A8V (? can't see the model written on the board, but its PCI-E 939) has bit the dust, it doesn't turn over and the HS is HOT, because it's attached the mobo with those plastic push pins, this would mean a full scale deconstruction of the pc to be able to get to the back of the mobo and remove it? that sounds like a right PITA, hope it's not that bad?
