Looking for a new system to replace my aging AMD64 3200!

Needs to be able to cope with fps games at a reasonable resolution, otherwise its just simple tasks like email and browsing. A little bit of 'future proof' would be nice although it seems things change v quickly (usually just after I invest in new gear!).

Got case and monitor and HDD already, so just need the guts of the rig (CPU/Mobo/Memory/GFX/PSU). I have a budget of around £750 at the moment, is a little stretchy but would like to stick to it if possible!

Thanks for any advice.

This would come in for your spec, and would be a superb upgrade for you. If you wanted some more futureproofing you could downgrade the IP35 board to the Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R which comes with DDR2 and DDR3 lanes so you can add DDR3 at a later point if you wanted too, but for the prices of DDR3 you might have upgraded to another motherboard by then anyway. But should you downgrade, it'll save you about £15. Also, the Zalman 9700 is comfirmed to fit both boards perfectly fine and comes with it's own thermal applicant that is on par with AS5.
