Currently my system is getting nearly 2 years old and think its time for an upgrade. Been looking around and have come up with the following spec.

P.S will be buying this in around 3 weeks time would there be anything coming out that would seriously put you off doing an upgrade just now?

Q6600 OEM

Asus Maximus Formula SE

GeIL 2GBn PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency

From my understanding the motherboard should support the new 45nm chips intel have to offer so if the future if i wanted to upgrade would it just be a new cpu? As the next set seem to not be coming out till next year (2009). Just choose that RAM at random if i need higher rated fsb ram to be able to support the new chips may as well get that just now also.

I have looked all over but cant find what the block on the motherboard is made from. Seen a review he questioned it just being copper coated aluminium does anyone know for certain what its made from?

Thanks for any help :)

Upgrading from a 3800X2 (939) system. No real budget but something under £400 or there abouts for the lot.

Will be overclocking have a Fuzion block for the cpu and will also connect the north bridge block in the same loop with some converters for tube size.

i think the parts you picked will be fine and im not aware of any new MB chipsets, intel CPUs or DDR2 ram commign out in the next 3 weeks however as with all plans on what to get jsut keep an eye out as somethign new and significant could be announced.
