Upgrade Advice?

Hi guys,

basically my 8600gt has died so im looking\forced to upgrade

Iv got my eye on the 4850 for £111 because i hate the idea of buying another 8600gt for £50 and essentially gaining nothing.

I will be using my pc for games, mainly Spore, HL2, CnC3 and Crysis, and think it would be nice to be a little future proof.

My concern is that im gaming on a 19inch lcd (1440x900) and was wondering if the 4850 would be a bit overkill on that screen size??

any advice will be much appreciated!

my specs is:
Intel E6750 @ 2.66ghz
2Gig PC6400 RAM
400W PSU
X-Fi Xtreme music

I wouldnt think twice about getting the 4850 at that price,that being said a 8800GT for a bit cheaper will chew any game you throw at it on that monitor.

Another vote for getting the 4850, will handle that res with ease and be an absolute massive performance increase.

or, if you can spare the extra cash, a 4870 will last at that res for even longer than a 4850

4850 is best bang for buck, displacing the 8800gt.

4850 is the best option for you but I'm a little dubious over your PSU. If you decide to go for this then you could see if the 4850 will work and if not then you are left with two options, 1st one is to return that card for a full refund and the 2nd option is to buy a new PSU sadly .
