Hi guys I was wondering if you would be so kind as to give me your thoughts on my next upgrade? My kit currently:

Silverstone Temjin TJ07
Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24"
ASUS P5K-E Wifi/AP
Core2Duo 8400 @ 4.40Ghz (489x9/1.35v)
4GB OCZ Reaper 1066 @ 975
Samsung Spinpoint F1 750GB SATA HD
NVIDIA 8800GTX @ 648/1492/1003 (Core/Shad/Mem)
Creative Audigy 2
M-AUDIO Delta 66
Enermax "Liberty" EL620AWT 620-watt PSU

I wish to upgrade my GFX card as I game @ 1920x1200 and after many years my 8800GTX has not got the grunt I require at this resolution. I, like many of you have no doubt been tempted by the 280 GTX now that it can be had for ~£230. Likewise, now that the 4870x2 has fallen in price it has become a possibility. However, there are a couple of things holding me back from making a final decision on either:

1. My PSU has only 2x 6-pin
2. It is only 620W (meaning if I was to buy a 4870x2 a new PSU would be in order)
3. The gtx 285 sports a dual 6-pin power connector (I would not have to upgrade my psu for this card which = bonus) although knowing NVIDIA it's more than likely going to be overpriced...
4. I use watercooling - so whatever card I choose I need to budget an extra ~£100 for a full cover block (EK or XSPC is my pref here).
5. I LOVE the idea of the 4870x2 BUT it has several negatives - PSU upgrade, price, waterblock and crossfire (I've always used single cards and never "profiles").

Thanks for reading this far - what would you guys recommend? The aim is to not break the bank but still sort an upgrade which would mean I could game happily for the next year or so without any problems.

Look forward to hearing your suggestions and do not hesitate to ask if you need any more info!

I was browsing some other forums just now and people were saying they had 4870x2s happily running on 620w PSUs. Can anyone confirm?

What aboot the gtx 285? Worth waiting for that considering I dont have an 8pin on my PSU?
