Upgrade Advice

Hi guys,

Last year I purchased a system from OC that's been really good but it's starting to struggle with some games on high visual settings, in paticular Empire Total War.

"Ultima OC 8800GTX" Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 2.40GHz @ X6800+ 2.93GHz Dual Core SILENT DDR2 System - Vista Premium

I think I just need to upgrade the graphics card as it currently has the following. I'd like to stick to NVidia but there are so many different ranges I'm not sure what to go with and how much of an improvement they would be over the card that came with the machine...

I'd like to keep below £250 and appreciate any advice you guys can give.

Hi Rob,

If you give us the full specs of the system, it'll help spec an upgrade.

It probably will be the graphics card needing upgraded, what resolution are you gaming at?

At a guess a GTX260 would be a decent upgrade (since you want to stick with nvidia), or the 1gb 4870, offers the same performance as the 260, but at the moment is on offer, so costs a lot less.
