I have an opty [email protected], in a DFI lanparty and want to upgrade it as it's starting to show its age.

Im not looking anything mad and was just going to make it a cheap upgrade for now, so I was looking at:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-015-FC

Would I be better with a Duo 8400 for gaming/video conversions etc?

Not sure about the mobo, but it seems solid and better than the p45s (which is relaly just the Asus P5Qs) around the same price, and that comes to around £270 with the weekly deals.

Not sure about the AMDs (out of the loop a while) but would say a Phenom II X4 810 be comparable in performamce (going by price range) to the 9450 Quad from Intel?

If anyone has a better deal (mobo, ram, cpu, possibly cooler) for the same price or cheaper feel free to englighten me.

Cheers.

you would also need a cooler for that cpu at ~£20

Done some reading, seen benchmarks etc, think im gonna go Intel and also think I would benifit more from a faster Duel core over a quad, thinking maybe a 7500 or 8400.

Im not sure about mobo though, well more the chipsets, Are the G41 and P43 chipsets much worse that p45/x48s? Reason being I think im just gonna do as cheap an upgrade as possible for now and in a few months build a whole new rig, so for typical gaming/encoding etc what would be best?
