Looking to update my gfx card shortly

current system is

Quad Core Q6600 @ 3.42ghz
8gb
620w psu
ATI HD 4870
24" screen running at 1920 x1200


Will want the option of maybe running 3screens in the future, looking at spending £180 max, Play lots of games :)
 
On a certain site, there is pre order for a Gigabyte 5850 for £112.99. Now, not sure if its a misprice, if not, that's a crazy deal.

Yeah just seen this, thought it was a mis price but if they honor it, wow!! Cracking deal!
 
Yep, that Gigabyte 5850 is a crazy deal, if indeed it's not a misprice. There's another 5850 going for £127.99 elsewhere, however it's only a reference model though.
 
Ok, the price has gone up £2 now, so, they must have seen it? I assume that means its the real deal...

A 5850 beats a 460 in most benchmarks so its a cracker.

My 4870 just gave up the ghost, and this is exactly what I was looking for in a replacement. Here's hoping they'll honour the deal.
