I had a 5770 crossfire set up and one of the cards broke so i did a swap of my single 5770 for dual 3870 x2's in crossfire and they are kicking ass but the only thing that is shocking is the power usage of them . So i was wondering which is the best upgrade pat for me . My mobo is a sapphire pure crossfire 790x so i do want to go crossfire in the future . I have an Amd 9850 agena cpu @ 2.5 never oc'ed and 4 gigs of ram . So i was wondering which is the best GPU's to go for and i game at res of 1680 x 1050

With that resolution something like a 6870 would be great. However, if you have the budget I would strongly suggest waiting for the imminent release of the 6900 series which will happen during the week of December 13th.

Unless your current your motherboard allows you you upgrade to AM3 CPU (of if you have the budget to do so) in the future, I think you should just save up and buy a 6950 or GTX570 when they are out and forget about Crossfire, as your Phenom I Quad won't be able to keep up with with anything at Crossfire 6850 or above anyway....

Also, even if you can upgrade to something like Phenom II X4, but with no overclocking it could bottleneck Crossfire 6850 and above as well.
