Hi,

Thinking of upgrading my current rig to the following:

Core i5 2500k
Asus P8P67 Pro
Corsair H50 Cooler
Corsair Vengeance 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Cooler Master CM-690 II Advanced

Will be keeping my 5850, single SSD and single HDD from my existing setup.

I was thinking of going for this bundle for the CPU/Mobo/RAM (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-063-OE) but after more research I can buy the parts for less and then overclock it myself. I’ve not done this before so had a few questions that I was hoping you guys could help me answer...

1) Assuming I’ll be able to overclock the potential new system to the same level as the bundle I linked?
2) Will the level of overclock be affected if I go for 8GB RAM (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-295-CS), compared to the 4GB in the bundle, even if they're the same type of memory?
3) If I want to overclock, will my current Corsair HX 620W power supply be man enough for the job? If not, could someone recommend one please.
4) Does anyone have this case and recommend that it’ll fit all of this stuff?

Appreciate the advice!

Thanks to both of you for the speed and helpfulness of your responses.

> So if I go for 2x4GB stick then the level of overclock won't be affected?
> Took a look at those links Surveyor (thanks) and noticed they are all C9 memory and noticed some feedback that said C8 would be better (I guess that's why it's more expensive). I don't have any experience of OC'ing but happy to pay the difference if it'll make the job easier or end result better

Thanks again

C8 or C9 will make absolutely no difference to how far you can overclock.

You'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between C8 and C9 in performance. It will make no difference to games and you might see some marginal difference to something like video encoding.

The main difference will be the £30-£40 in your pocket!

Overclocking with 2x4GB sticks will be no problem.

The cheaper stuff they have running at a Command Rate of 2N.

I have the Geil RAM and it runs fine at 1N.

1N gives slightly better performance.

See if you can find any reviews of the G.Skill. It may run fine at 1N.

It doesn't say if the memory you originally chose is 1N or 2N.
