Hi folks, I posted a similar thread a few days ago, but it kind of turned into a 480 SOC-fest
.
So I'm making an upgrade at the end of the week, and I'm down to 2 choices.
1: Get a gtx580 or 2x6950's and stick with my current cpu,
or
2: get a single 6950 and upgrade my cpu/mobo to an i5 2500k.
My current setup is a q9550 (3.7) and an HD5870. My pc is used pretty much just for gaming, though I do play some cpu limited games like WoW. I play at 1920 x 1200.
I am somewhat noise conscious, so if I went for the 6950's I'd probably go for a frozr III, despite it not being unlockable.
thanks

As for graphic upgrade, save your money and see what the 28nm process cards coming at the end of the year has to offer. Going 5870 to 6950 2GB would offer very little performance boost, so don't bother (not unless you need the extra vram for running two instances of the WOW on the same PC).
