I'm feeling the need to spend some money on my pc before Christmas, its relatively new (April 2011) but I feel like I'm missing out on something. Current specs are:

Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (at 4.6ghz)
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 480 SUPER OC
Corsair HX 1000W
Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 (Socket 1155)
Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel
Coolermaster HAF 932
OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB
Akasa Venom CPU Cooler

I've decided to keep the GTX480 until 580 prices drop a bit, but I was mainly wondering if I could get any speed increases with the Asrock extreme4 or 7.

Also I would love the CM690 Nvidia edition, has anyone tried one out for size?

Any suggestions welcome :)

You wont get a speed increase just by a motherboard swap like that, you will gain the extra Z68 feature set though.

Do you have a nice monitor?

Thanks, I'm still struggling to spot the advantages of these Z series mobo's over my current one. Got a 3D monitor I'm happy with, plus a regular samsung that needs setting up as a second monitor when I clear my desk up a bit.
