Upgrade Advice

Hi there,

I currently have:

Intel Q6700
GigaByte Motherboard
4Gb DDR2 RAM
5Tb Drive Space
ATi HD5870

I was thinking about going for a i5 or i7 cpu but the i5 is only a dual core and I have a quad core at the moment. The i7 is nice kit but stupid prices.

I am unsure if there is a board I can get that will take my Q6700 and allow me to use DDR3 RAM.

Any options/advice/suggestions are welcome.

I can provide a full system report via Speccy if needed.

If you can, wait till ivy bridge comes out and get a 3570k and a gen 3 mb. I definately wouldnt buy a 775 socket mb.

what CPU would that be?

Is Intel still better than AMD for gaming systems?

Intel ivy bridge i5 3570k, it should be out in a few months. And yes intel are better.

so that gonna be a 3.5Ghz i5?
