upgrade advice

hello

i have a pc and in the mood to upgrade it within reason

i have the following:

Amd phenom X4 955
Gigabyte MA74GMT-S2
4GB Corsair xms2
Asus HD 6850 graphics card
antec 650 psu

any ideas on what could be some quick in upgrades?

I thought maybe going for more ram?

Any advice would be grateful,

if its a noticeable upgrade i could fork out more cash maybe 150 lol

hmm i dunno if its black edition, cpuz just says 955

its defintley not overclocked, i would rather not go down that path either even though there might be some quick wins

What sort of upgrade are you looking for? As in, what do you want to gain through it? Speed, gaming performance etc?

shame, if it was a black edition, i'd say oc it. but since its not and you only have 100 quid.
i'd be tempted to say save your money and switch over to the i5k when you can afford it (around 280 quid)

i only play a few games, rift and iracing

rift will turn into guild wars 2 when its released

I'd probably agree with tamzzy to be honest, save the 100-150 for a while, then get a new mobo, I5 and DDR3 ram at the same time when you can afford it.

do you have an ssd?
if not i'd say for 100 quid upgrade, an ssd would be the most beneficial

would 8gb ram help out? seems cheap as chips at the moment

i would rather wait on doing a major upgrade as suggested as i will build a new comp next year anyways hopefully

depends on what you are doing. if you're not maxing out 4gb at the moment, then no. more ram isnt going to help.
get an ssd if you already havent. the difference is like night and day.
