Upgrade Advice

I postponed a possible upgrade earlier in January to see what affect the release of the non ref 290 and mantle had on the GPU market.

my current GTX570 has reached a point where it is really struggling with the recent gaming lineup (bf4, dayz etc). A previous suggestion of dusting was attempted and may have mitigated the jet engine noise somewhat but i still have that upgrade itch.

so really its out of a gtx780 or a non ref 290. id appreciate any advice.

I'm thinking a budget of between £350 & £400, the rest of my spec is below (and yes that will be upgraded at a later date :D)

I'd say the current offer on the Sapphire 290 Tri-X is unbeatable for what you get at that price, im sure your PSU should be fine too, dont quote me on that though.
 
either card will give you a serious boost.

Not much in it to be honest. Just casting a casual eye in the last week or so I have seen more "is my 290 faulty" or "problems with 290" threads but then again thats probably more to do with the AMD bias on the forums.
 
I did notice that in Jan re. the questioned quality on some of the 290's. i'm currently leaning towards the 780GTx as its reportedly quieter (well some of them anyway) i am somewhat intrigued by the prospect of mantle however since i play quite a bit of bf4, cant help but think its still very early days in regards to its stability.
