Hi guys,

Thinking about moving to devils canyon.

Current setup:

Silverstone SST-FT02-RWI Fortress FT02 Midi Tower
Corsair 850W HX Modular
Asus P8Z68-V PRO Z68 Socket 1155
Intel Core i7 2600k 3.4GHz @ 4.4Ghz Socket 1155 8MB Cache
G-Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V
Sapphire R9 290 TRI-X OC 4GB GDDR5
250GB Samsung 840 EVO

I guess I am looking for a Z97 board and a 4790K? Any recommendations for the weapon of choice? Am I going to see much of an improvement? I'm looking for something obviously for gaming and decent overclocking potential. No plans for watercooling at the moment.

I could use advice on choice of Mobo/CPU and RAM? Money isn't an issue.

Thanks guys!

Id be surprised if you saw any noticible difference except maybe in benchmarks.

But if you do go for it then you may as well get a Z97 board, whichever you like the looks of, personally I like asus boards. CPU wise it would be 4970K and memory wise I got the Teamgroup 2400Mhz stuff

I don't have any real performance issues currently, just have a bit of cash burning a hole at the moment and thought that an upgrade might be an idea.

Would you recommend waiting for next gen?

Up to you mate, I know the cash burning a hole feeling :p

I know the burning feeling m8 but i would wait for X99 as you're not going to get anything significant fron z97.

hmmm X99.......
