Hey guys, i have a 4th pc i dont really wanna spend much cash on it as its only really used for the kids to play crap stuff like Minecraft etc, i was wondering if anyone had any upgrade advice.

CPU I3-2100 3.1ghx
Board Gigabye H61m-ds2
GFX Radeon HD6 series
8gb of 1333hz ram

I just done a simple upgrade on it, changed PSU to a bronze 80+, added a EVO on to the cpu, put it in a more air friendly case and added a 120gb SSD..

Would it be a waste of time jamming a 1060 in it?

A GTX 1050/Ti would be a big jump - and would be more balanced for the system and usage such as Minecraft. Plus, save you a lot of money...

The 1050Ti will play games very well at 1080p - medium/high - your kids games especially. It would power through Minecraft...

Another 8Gb of matched memory would help too (not essential) - but buy second hand. As you're not clocking you could get another matched pair of 1333MHz - possibly ~£25 for similar 8Gb pair?

Hmmm never thought of a 1050, needed a big upgrade, took the basic cpu cooler off and found the thermal paste had basically became glue so threw an evo on it to keep it cool..

might invest in a 1050ti then, wont break the bank and if the machine decides to die then the card can be transfered to another donor machine :)
