Hi,

I'm very lucky and have the money to upgrade my pc. My current pc is a 4790k with 16GB RAM and a 1080 Graphics card. Does anyone know how long roughly it'll be before the next gen of intel CPU is released please ? I just don't want to buy a new setup only for it to become last gen with a month or two.

Coffeelake is the latest, (8700K ecte) there are probably not going to be any newer ones than that for a year yet.

What is the PC used for?
I have a i7 7700k on a gaming/productivity PC and I feel as though it is good enough
 
Gaming only, I've decided I'm going to save up and wait for the next Intel CPU release. My 4790K is fine for what I use it for but my son is running my old 2600K and it's beginning to show it's age in some games now, so if I upgrade then he gets upgrades too, this time he'll have to wait a bit though :)
