Hi guys. I'm currently on a 980ti and a 2500k. I'm considering a modern cpu/mobo/ram combo, but i'm out of the loop. I was looking at the octa core Ryzen, and they look nice, but also see bits on Ryzen 2. Is it worth waiting for said processor instead, as i generally like my computer to last a good few years.

If i may go off the topic of the forum a little, If you suggest Ryzen, what motherboard and ram would you suggest i go for? I'm more mid-range focused and want the best price/performance/quality ratio.

Thanks for the input. Was going to buy a ryzen cpu mobo and the 8pack ram tonight, but after reading the replies and the forums a bit, i decided to wait for the refresh next month. Had no idea it was on the horizon.
2600k would be worth considering, but i'd have to grab a decent mobo too, as the old one died and the replacement doesn't have much overclocking support, so i can't even reach 4ghz, so makes more sense just to upgrade to another platform
