I currently have an MSI Armor RX580 8GB which makes an absolute racket under load and have decided to gift it to my daughter for her newly built PC.

I've got a budget of £370 to spend on a replacement and undecided on whether to get a much quieter RX580 'if such exist' or a 1070 should budget allow. I've got a non-oc'd Ryzen 5 1600, 16GB 3000Mhz, Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 with a Seasonic Focus 550 PSU which I hope doesn't need to be upgraded.

Well if you got a 1070 that would be much faster and most run really quietly and they start at about £320. Some are also coming with destiny 2 and expansions so probably wanna check for that.

There is also the 1070ti which are fair bit faster again they start at around £400.

I wouldn't bother with another 580 when you can get 1070.

I think 1070 is where I'm at this moment in time, any recommendations? All seem similar just pricing and P&P to add!

Comparing clocks on both and the GameRock seems slower than the one you recommended?

Just wondering...how's the airflow for your case? Do you have good amount of air-intake delivering cool air to the RX580?

Cause if the graphic card cooler is spinning at crazy rpm due to suffocating from lack of air, you will still have the graphic card cooler spinning at high speed and being loud even if you change it to a different card.

Basically the more cool air available for the graphic card to use (and the bigger/better the heatsink), the quieter (slower) the cooler fans will run.

Case should have plenty of airflow? I own the Fractal Design Meshify C with 3x Corsair ML120 fans. I have read from fellow owners of the MSI Armor RX580 stating the cooler is rubbish.

I can get the GameRock for £349.99, but the Super Jetstream is the one I'd like... shame OcUK don't do free delivery @Gibbo!

I know your mind is set on getting a new card, but have your tried and see what the noise level of the card is like with the side-panel opened?

While I certainly do not doubt the cooling/air-intake capability of the Corsair ML120 fans, it is the case's dust filter that I am thinking about, as recently looking at the review of the LIAN-LI PC-O11 AIR case review, it has shown that the poorly designed dust filler at the front panel has single-handily ruining the cooling performance of the case, due the those dust filler has restricted the air-intake so much, and the temp dropped way down once the dust-filter was removed.

I was about to buy the O11 Air myself. Glad I stuck with my meshify C. The O11 Air is very disappointing tbh

slapped demciflex filters on my air. just by doing the bottom one, all read for mobo temp sensors and software programs dropped by 5c ... not to do the top (has non but have pets) and the side which still has stock

Yeah tried all this to no avail. It's typical as there wasn't any complaints to be found until I purchased it now there's a fair few complaining about the cooler on this card. There is hardly any heatsink on it, and the fans are tiny so not surprised.

Yeah like that's going to happen in a hurry this week! :D

I did look at replacing the case to a Phanteks Evolv but I like my Meshify C too much!

Armour cards are great if you're looking to water cool them or stick on another cooler. They have the MSI Gaming PCB, only difference between the actual Gaming card and the armour, is the cooler.
