Upgrade advice

Afternoon Guys,

I have been building and rebuilding my rig over a few years now, my old man made out first one so its kinda something have always done.

My last addition to the rig included me splurging on a GTX 1070 amp and a 4K screen with some new RAM. Yes i know a shiny new GPU doesn't make a gaming comp but the other things in my rig were what i considered to be good. (this is where i get to my point)

I feel that my rig seems lacking when playing games and just general use. It seems slower than i expect it to be despite keeping it slim with programs/cleaning/general maintenance.

So my question would be am i just being over expectant or is my rig missing something or some parts hugely lacking?

Any insight anyone may have would be great! :-)
 
stick some more ram in, my system is far inferior to yours and I have 12gb ram, I remember when I jumped up from 8gb DDR3, made a hell of a difference and it isn't even the same speed.
 
Agree with orbitalwash, the 1070 has nowhere near enough grunt for 4k gaming. You should have done a bit of research before buying a 1070 with a 4k screen. I wouldn't go less than a 1080ti for 4k and even that will struggle in some games. Hell, even the ridiculously priced 2080ti struggles with some games at 4k.
