Upgrade advice

Hey guys,

I've been out of the loop for a little while and I'm wondering

Currently I'm running

ASROCK Fatal1ty Z97 Killer socket 1150 board
I5 Devil's Canyon 4690K @ 4.3 OC
Gskill 2400 mhz DDR3
GTX980ti

Would I gain an appreciable benefit in performance if I were to upgrade the MB and CPU at this point? if so what do you think would be the best option - I'm not looking to spend crazy money but something that's a decent upgrade for the cost and that will be ready for a Graphics upgrade next year?

Or should I save my pennies and just wait, I feel like upgrading the GFX card with this MB and processor would be pointless because I would be bottle-necked, is this right?

Yes, the i5 would severely limit you, in fact it would already be a severe bottleneck in some of the latest titles.

You could get a 2nd hand i7-4790K or 4770K, throw on an overclock and you're laughing, then blow the rest on an RTX2080.

980Ti is a hard one to know what to upgrade to. An RTX2070 or 2080 really. A much cheaper 1070Ti is an upgrade, but not a big one.
