I'm not at all tech savvy, so I wonder I can get some info?

I have an AMD 7950 card and was thinking of replacing it with an AMD RX 580 - would this new card be a direct replacement and fit the motherboard slot, and connections that are on my 7950?

Thanks in advance

There should be no problem as far as I can. Both cards would use around the same power and would imagine pretty similar in size. The 580 is also a much faster card so all good if that is what you want to buy.

Thanks for the advice offered.

My computer is

AMD 8350
AMD 7950
8gb Ram
600 watt power supply - I knew to check this

My main concern was that the new card used a different type of PCI slot or connection plugs to the motherboard, as it is now a few years old? I'm happy to run my games at 1080p and thought the 580 would give a little boost in more demanding games. It also looks good value for money just now.
